Hi, my name is Cassidy and I’m a chocoholic. If you open my kitchen pantry door, you can bet your ass you’ll find a spectacular collection of both indulgent and your everyday chocolates that could rival the likes of a grocery store sweets aisle. From chocolate coated mixed nuts to pralines, pick ‘n’ mix bags and good old fashioned chocolate slabs, I’m in no way picky. So it should come as no surprise, then, that I’ll use any excuse to have chocolate for breakfast!
My sister bought me a recipe book for Christmas, and when I paged through it and landed on a recipe for a chocolate breakfast smoothie, I needed no persuasion. Also take note that this is a health-, gluten- and carb-conscious recipe book, so don’t roll your eyes at having a chocolate smoothie for breakfast. This decadent beauty is actually (sort of) healthy!
Following a few of my own substitutions and added yumminess, the end result was a drool-worthy double chocolate smoothie. The cocoa powder and chocolate spread create a rich chocolatey flavor that isn’t sickly sweet, and the ground almonds make for crunchy little bits of goodness in every mouthful.
How can it be a bad day if you start off your morning with the taste of chocolate?
